Hi, I’m Klaudia, and I am a Barn Mom! I began this blog because I wanted to create a platform for other potential, current, or former Barn Moms to share resources, exchange ideas, and provide support for our own or our children’s experiences with horseback riding.
For as long as I can remember, I loved horses and wanted to ride. Unfortunately, due to my family’s economic situation, I couldn’t begin taking riding lessons until I was an adult. After just a few lessons, I noticed an immense change in my mental and physical health. I was happier, stronger, and more fit.
I began my equestrian journey in spring of 2012. After a few weeks of taking riding lessons, I wanted to spend more time at the barn so I began volunteering with a therapeutic horseback riding program. Riding is a brilliant way to bring shy children out of their shells. Children who are by nature shy often open up to a pony. Think about it… ponies never judge or bully. Instead, they can seem especially in tune with a rider’s troubles.
That’s why, in 2017, my daughter began to take horseback riding lessons at age three. Currently, we both take riding lessons at a beautiful farm in Purcellville, VA. Most recently, my daughter won a Reserved Champion at the barn’s schooling show. We both plan to compete in the spring!
I am happy to welcome you to my blog. Hopefully, I can offer you the resources and support you might be looking for as a fellow Barn Mom.
